THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS

We are officially in count down mode. Our dossier has been submitted to the SDA!!!! YEA!!!! The last several days have been really hard. I have had a lot of doubts and was just plan scared. Are we doing the right thing? The devil got a hold and starting shaking me. I told him to back off last night and for God to make me calm and peaceful. Which of course he has done just that. We should know when travel dates are by the end of June

Another Delay

Well the day came and went. We got am e-mail saying there was a little something wrong with the medical paperwork.. Numbers for the HIV test were left off. I am so scatterbrain. I never saw the numbers were not there when I sent it in Jan. So we quickly had that fixed and sent it again yesterday.. The PRAYER of the week. That Fedx delivers before Monday because our facilitator say he has until the 27th to get the paper work in. GOOD GRIEF are we on a rollercoaster or what. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I thing it has just begun. On the lighter side I did take Tuesday off and Michael and I got to spend the day together. We drove the medical forms to Jackson, Ms and back to get the apostilles.. It was quicker and sending them Fedx..

I am sitting on our back patio watching my babies ( the dogs ) play in the grass. Lady and Bear are going to love playing with children. They are so gentle to be so big. Not to much to report on our travels. the SDA will have our paper work on May 14. By the end of June we should know travel dates.

Ukrainian law has changed. Singles and couples 45 years older than the child they wish to adopt are no longer able to. I hate to even type this because Ukraine is making a Hugh mistake.

These children deserve a loving home so they can grow up to become great adults. It must be very challenging to live in a country once ruled by communism. You get used to the government doing everything for you including raising your children. I know there are wonderful people in Ukraine that love and care for children. I pray that someday they all will know that God loves them and that they can live without government doing everything for them. Right now in Ukraine there are missionaries that are trying to reach children. One such outreach is crossroads. Check out the blog http://www.ukrainestreetchildren.blogspot.com/ god is truly doing great things in Ukraine.

Closer, ever closer

To catch everyone up to speed. We have a date. Yeah!!!! May 14 is the date that will forever be the day we submitted to the SDA. It is finally in thinking range. Michael and I are so very excited and very nervous. So we wait patiently. God is taking care of every bit of this and will not be there (Ukraine ) before our children are ready. I truly believe this and have faith that it will be in Gods timing. With that said let me tell what else is going on in our house hold.
Lady, ( our boxer ) had emergency surgery last week. Yes she is doing OK but it was looking bad for a little while. She had a miscarriage and developed a very bad life threatening infection. Bear ( Our other baby ) know she is not feeling well and has been so supper sweet. Then a few days ago Bear ate a bar of soap. He is a nut. We spent the evening watching him up-chuck soap suds. yes it is a little funny so laugh. We did. As you can see I believe this the Gods way of trying to get us a little ready for the happenings of children in the house. This make me smile because God is so great in the way he has planned my and Michael lives.

Hanging in here...

Yes I am still blogging, just took a long break. All of our paperwork is with our translator. We are waiting for it to be submitted to the SDA. I pray that is sooner than later. On other news Michael is organizing and building in the garage. To make it more useable for a family with children. He is doing a great job. Speaking of jobs. I am tired of mine. We have been very busy and I am not getting anything done. I will be glad when the Flu leaves this area.
I find myself really missing my little boys.. Can not wait to meet them.

Do Over

Well, we started the steps to finding our children in March of 2007. Urkaine reach there quota last month and are not taking anymore dossier until late Jan 08. Good news we do have a place in line to turn ours dossier into the SDA next year. There is a small catch. We will have to redue most of the documents becouse they will expire before the SDA wants them to.. So we just redo them. :)
Michael and I almost have the childrens room completed. Yes is it a boys room. So if we come home with a little girl she will get to help us decorate her room. This means I loose my guest room / extra closet. Not a problem I will get the screen in porch glassed in and turned into that extra space needed. I really like the boys room we are doing and will post pictures when it is completed.
I am actually glad that the Lord is not sending us to Ukraine right now. It will give Michael knee a while longer to heal and for him to get stronger. Remember he had knee replacement surgery in July. It will be great to be visiting Ukraine in April or May. Spring is alway beautiful I hear and my birthday is in May. What a present.

Our translator has had our paperwork for a few weeks now. We FedXed it Oct 23. However , the SDA will stop accepting dossier in Dec. What is means is we will not be in Ukraine Christmas or New Years and will be miss most of the very cold weather. That is a good thing. We just might be there for Easter. That would be great!
It has help us so much by reading other blogs. It keeps me focused on the big picture and the goal. I often wonder if we will be able to this, go to another country where we do not speak the language and be successful at finding our children. Then I think, you know if all of these other people can do this , do can we. It is a blessing to be able to follow their journey. God will provide.

Right now our house hold is in hunting season mode. Michael and Harvey are getting ready to go to Il , Pike co. to find that big one. You know the one. Michael's knee is progressing. It has been 4 months after knee replacement and he is going to try and go back to work and the 17 of this month. Please pray for him as he continues to recover.
